High Sierra
The High Sierra (also know as the Sierra Nevada Mountains) is a mountain range that extends nearly four hundred miles north to south. Ranging in elevation from 5,000ft to over 14,000ft, the High Sierra comprises an incredible number of features, including three national parks, over ten designated wildernesses, and over five national forests. Given much of its terrain can only be reached "on foot", the High Sierra is an incredible outdoor paradise for hikers, backpackers, campers, equestrians, mountain climbers, and skiers. Many of the photos shown below were taken on hiking and backpacking trips through the high sierra, yet do not comprise them all.
