Pecos Past - New Mexico

Inside a Kiva in the Pecos Pueblo, Pecos National Historic Park, New Mexico. Kivas are underground structures - ceremonial and social locations for Puebloan people containing a fire pit, heat deflector, air vent, and what is called a sipapu (a spiritual symbol - not shown here). This Kiva, reconstructed by the National Park, sits atop a bluff near the Pecos Pueblo. To try and photograph this structure in a unique way, I decided to use an extended exposure to capture the ghostly movements of a tourist descending the ladder.
