Red Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) standing proud over her breakfast, Shoreline Park, Mountain View, California. This prey was original caught a few moments earlier by a smaller (male) Red Tailed Hawk. This larger (female) flew into the area, presumably the same hawk I saw hunting together with the other earlier in the day. They had a friendly chat, then the hawk that made the catch flew up into a nearby tree, letting this one take over without an argument.
