Late afternoon shadows stretch across a snow covered meadow in Yosemite Valley. In the winter the sun is low in the sky in Yosemite, often hiding behind the towering mountains on the south side of the valley, and casting long shadows from the trees. It is often difficult to find untouched snow in Yosemite Valley, this meadow seemingly untouched aside from the barely visible line of footprints marking the snow near the trees.
