Shoreline of the Lyell Fork in Lyell Canyon, Yosemite National Park. Lyell Canyon stretches for miles from Tuolumne Meadows to the north to Donahue Pass at its south end. This photo was taken in late afternoon on the last day of a three day loop hike in early spring. While much of the high country was still covered in snow, this portion of the hike had just melted out, and the hike through Lyell Canyon nearly flooded from the snow melt.
