Enjoying the View - Backpacking Seven Gables Basin

Backpacker in a meadow below Stub Lake in Lower Seven Gables Basin, John Muir Wilderness. The long hike from the Bear Diversion Dam trailhead to Seven Gables Basin consists of many miles of on trail hiking until one reaches the John Muir Trail. The route then continues east, consisting of several miles of off trail hiking following a disappearing use-trail. After a long day of hiking from the trailhead, I couldn't think of a better place to sit down and take a rest.
