Afternoon Light - High Sierra

Afternoon sun at Orchid Lake in the High Sierra. After a long day of weather which threatened rain, the clouds broke allowing the sun to burst out into the basin. This photo was taken on the return to camp from a day hike to nearby Apollo Lake. Camp, barely seen at center on the rocks above the lake, had an incredible view from Orchid Lake towards Seven Gables and Bear Lakes Basin.
