View while climbing towards Black Rock Pass, Sequoia National Park. The canyon walls rising above Cliff Creak are rugged but beautiful, interspersed with rocky cliffs and groves of green. I had hoped to give a perspective of both of these traits, as well as pay homage the name of the pass I was climbing - Black Rock Pass. The title of this image - Relief - reflects both the ruggedness of the landscape (in the context of a relief map) as well as my mood at the time - I wanted relief from the relentless climb up Black Rock Pass.
