View south from Forester Pass. The views from the top of Forester Pass are breathtaking: this view from the summit looks down over several unnamed lakes west of Diamond Mesa (the ridge to the left) and continues down to the southern peaks of Sequoia National Park. The southern climb up and down Forester Pass is famous for being etched out of a granite cliff, and prior to the creation of Forester Pass those wishing to pass over the divide on trail had to do so over Junction Pass to the east.
