Immature and Mature Black Crowned Night Herons. The small grove of Palm Trees at Palo Alto Baylands, CA, turns into a rookery in spring, where Egrets and Herons gather to nest. It is amazing observing the differences between the immature (front) and mature (back) Night Herons.
