Pearson Arastradero Preserve
Located in Palo Alto California, Arastradero Preserve is a public nature preserve managed by the city of Palo Alto. Composed of rolling hills and evergreen forests, the preserve houses wildlife such as deer, coyote, and bobcat, as well as a vast bird population. The bird population is most evident in spring, as the birds make use of several nest boxes placed across the Preserve. Being on the borders of the Silicon Valley and a short drive for a lot of residents, Arastradero Preserve is popular for hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. Despite its crowded reputation, I've found the preserve can be quite vacant in the early mornings, which is a great time to find the wildlife wandering about before the abundance of visitors chase them away.
